When the eye lenses become clouded is called the Cataract. Most of the cataract causes are aging, medication which induces side effects, physical or chemical injuries in the eyes. Cataract surgery is performed to clear the cloudiness and replacing the place with an artificial lens. In the past decades, cataract surgery was complex, manual sutures were performed. The recovery time was too long. Nowadays, with advanced ophthalmic technologies, Cataract surgery has become trouble-free. Here we do read out the general cataract surgery procedures.
“Phacoemulsification” is a common technique for eye cataract surgeries. Under the local anesthesia, the eye surgeon makes a small incision on the corneal side. With the help of ultrasonic vibrations, the clouded lens is broken into small pieces. Then the broken fragments are removed by suction procedure through a small cut in the eye. Even the cut is also done with the help of the laser by the surgeon. The broken clouded lens is replaced with Intra Ocular lens which is a clear plastic, acrylic or silicone make that stores the normal eye vision. This procedure minimizes the usage of optical glasses after surgery and save human eyes and life from critical problems. This surgery takes less than an hour to perform. This surgery is performed and treated as an outpatient procedure. At a time both eye cataract will never be performed. The surgery will be scheduled usually after a few weeks of the first surgery. Eye cataract surgery after the procedure will have mild irritation. Surgeons use to generally prescribe painkillers, eye drops and advice the patients wear dark glasses to avoid light sensitivity.
Extracapsular cataract extraction (ECCE):
Removal of the entire natural lens with the elastic capsule is left in the lens place for implantation of an intraocular lens. A large incision is made in the sclera or cornea. This is generally preferred for hard cataracts and after this surgery, the incision place is sutured.
Intracapsular cataract extraction (ICCE):
This procedure involves the removal of the lens and its surrounding lens capsule in one piece. A large incision is made and a heavy pressure is placed on the vitreous body which stimulates high complications.
An intraocular lens is implanted either in the anterior chamber or sutured into the sulcus.

LASIK Eye surgery:
It is otherwise called as laser surgery. This is a kind of refractive surgery which helps to treat hyperopia, myopia, and astigmatism. An Ophthalmic surgeon uses the laser for vision improvement by reshaping the cornea of the eye. Lasik is a permanent remedy for glasses and lenses. It is an outpatient procedure takes almost five minutes. No pain or bleeding, hospitalization is required for Lasik.
Though there are various high-end procedures prevalent almost in all the countries, the timely treatment is necessary to save the vision. If it is failed to treat on time, the loss of vision will occur.
